Here I am being vulnerable, open, raw.

As I am driving home from my second funeral this month, Tears are falling from my eyes and my heart is full of raw emotion. The past 6 weeks have been an emotional roller coaster. The loss of both of my grandparents has impacted my life in so many ways. It has lit my fire to help others who struggle with end of life issues. Life is beautiful and with the right pieces in place dying can be just as beautiful. I feel honored to have such an amazing experience in my life and want others to have the opportunity to have the same.

Being a family caregiver can be exhausting and frustrating, especially when you don’t have access to resources or supports. My grandparents were the lucky ones, my family came together to ensure that they had the best quality of life.

I was able to be my families ambassador, their guide, their advocate. I was able to connect them to resources and programs that were essential to dying gracefully.

As you care for your loved one, don’t do it alone. There is help. Invest in the right support and this will change your life.
